A "plummet" or "plumbline" in Scripture is the same device as a "plumb-bob" of today, functionally speaking.

I have checked the plumb-bob again, and it was left
of the line.
I have
yet to learn. I'm not sure how to do the test, or need more equipment to
do it scientifically, and a longer plumbline.
